The Performance Platform Festival is reforming it's programme for 2024

Lokomotiva - Centre for New Initiative in Arts and Culture has produced and presented works by local and international artists in collaboration with partners. The Performance Platform Festival (PPF) in 2024 will reform its program to focus on promoting a feminist approach in curating and developing convivial approaches to distributing programs. PPF aims to foster multi-relational partnerships and friendships in the Balkan region and locally, positioning itself as connectors in the performing arts legacy. The program will feature performances at the intersection of dance, theatre, and visual art, focusing on socio-political topics. PPF will also share artistic processes and methodologies. The 2024 program includes performances by Olga Dimitrijević, Maja Pelević, Zufit Simon, NAM ChoreoLab, and a discursive program co-organized with First Born Girl festival and Meduza. The program is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, Creative Europe, and Goethe-Institut in Skopje, with partners including Firstborn Girl festival, MOT festival, Youth Cultural Center (MKC), and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts - Skopje.

In the past years, Lokomotiva - Centre for New Initiative in Arts and Culture produced and presented numerous works by local and international artists as part of its program and in collaboration with local and regional partners. We decided to follow up and reframe the program. Thus, the Performance PlatformFestival (PPF) in 2024 reforms in a pioneering initiative, unfolding its program throughout the year and through collaborations with festivals across the country and in the region.
Our goal is not to start yet another festival in the cultural sphere where there already are many, but to join forces and promote a feminist approach in curating, thus sharing the resources and developing convivial approaches of distributing programs to diverse audiences.
PPF reimagines the distribution of artworks beyond a one-dimensional approach by fostering multi-relational, ongoing partnerships and friendships.
Acknowledging that the production of the new emerges from past efforts, we aspire to position ourselves as connectors, not only within the Balkan region and locally, but also as temporary caretakers maintaining, enhancing and developing the performing arts legacy.
Dedicated to presenting international and local performances at the intersection of dance, theatre, and visual art, PPF focuses on research that delves into socio-political topics spanning micro and macro politics.
Through our program, we seek to incite critical reflection on these issues. Therefore, we are not only interested in presenting final productions, but also in sharing the artistic and collaborative processes and methodologies underpinning them.
This year, we will present the following program: performances WORLD WITHOUT WOMEN conceptualised, written and performed by text, Olga Dimitrijević and Maja Pelević, Radical Cheerleading by Zufit Simon and NAM ChoreoLab - Viktorija Ilioska, Ana Dubljevic, Sonja Pregrad, Drazen Dragojevic to be followed by the discursive program Missing Dialogue co-organized with First Born Girl festival and in collaboration with Meduza.
The PPF program 2024 is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, Creative Europe/European Cooperation Western Balkans program and Goethe-Institut in Skopje.
2024 PPF partners are Firstborn Girl festival, MOT festival, Youth Cultural Center (MKC) and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts - Skopje.
