"Skopje, the Great Escape" - An Immersive Journey Through the Heart of the City


Skopje, October 26, 2023 - Prepare to embark on an immersive experience like no other with "Skopje, the Great Escape." This performance, combined with an audio-visual spectacle, invites the audience to explore forgotten corners of Skopje, where collective walks open up questions about the social dimensions of public spaces.

The City and the River: A Continuous Dialogue

Skopje, a city constantly in a state of turbulent discussion with the river, where its inhabitants populate this ever-changing, sometimes irrational place they perceive as home. Is it an eternal love story with the city, or a tale of the struggle to make this place livable?

This performance, "Skopje, the Great Escape," is created as part of the "Public Spaces Re:claimed" project, co-funded by the European Commission through the Creative Europe program. The realization of the performance was made possible with the contribution of the Beatrix Cultural Center, Youth Hub, Vardar Film Skopje, Centar Municipality, and the Macedonian Post.
