Skopje, January 26, 2024 - On Wednesday, January 26, the Silata eu mladite (a wordplay incorporating EU into the phrase "The strenght is in the youth") platform commences its activities with a grand premiere event at the Lab, featuring an electrifying concert by the youth band "Crno Sobranie." This event represents the pinnacle of energy and creativity, aiming to support and promote quality youth initiatives in North Macedonia.
The band "Crno Sobranie" originated from the Nikola Karev High School in Skopje as a result of a project activity for school bands led by Emilia Ristanovska. With an impressive first performance at the high school festival "Three Days of Culture" in 2022, the band became known for its beautiful and melodic sounds.
In addition to performances across North Macedonia, "Crno Sobranie" left its mark on historic occasions, including a residency concert at the Presidential Palace, events organized by Europe House Skopje on Europe Day, and celebrations organized by the Ministry of Culture on the Day of the Macedonian Language. Their performance in Belgrade at the regional showcase "BG Invasion" in 2023 demonstrated their ability to transcend national borders.
Although not confined to a specific genre, "Crno Sobranie" is best described as "alternative rock," playing a wide range of different styles. The name "Crno Sobranie" carries subjective meaning, challenging norms and creating its own identity within the music scene.
Silata eu Mladite as a platform, not only recognizes the talented potential of bands like "Crno Sobranie" but also unites and supports them in their efforts to enrich the youth cultural landscape in North Macedonia.
